Tender Mercies

This morning, my mom made me an omelet for breakfast! I usually have to make my own breakfast, so this was a real treat. I have early morning seminary and the only reason my mom is up that early, is because of me. Breakfast may seem like such a small thing, but to me it is huge. There is so much in this world to be happy about. Yet, most of the time, people don’t see it. As I walked to school I had three people wave to me. Wow, just a small wave and a hello really made my day. It smelled of flowers outside and the birds were chirping.

I guess what I’m trying to say is; There will always be bad things and a pessimistic way to see them, but that doesn’t stop the good things that people do. The Lord will always be there for us in our lives. He will never let us down and he always has a reason for things that happen.

Footprints in the Sand
night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.
This bothered me because I noticed
that during the low periods of my life,
when I was suffering from
anguish, sorrow or defeat,
I could see only one set of footprints.
So I said to the Lord,
“You promised me Lord,
that if I followed you,
you would walk with me always.
But I have noticed that during
the most trying periods of my life
 there have only been one
set of footprints in the sand.
Why, when I needed you most,
you have not been there for me?”
The Lord replied,
“The times when you have
seen only one set of footprints,
is when I carried you.”
